Foi realizada nesse domingo a cerimônia de premiação do Emmy 2019, e apesar de seu final ter levantado polêmicas e dividido os críticos, Game of Thrones foi premiado na categoria Melhor Série de Drama. O ator Peter Dinklage também foi premiado na categoria Melhor Ator Coadjuvante, fazendo dessa sua quarta vitória.
Na categoria comédia, Fleabag foi o grande destaque, tendo levado os prêmios de Melhor Série de Comédia, Melhor Atriz para Phoebe Waller-Bridge, direção e roteiro. No entanto, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel também arrebatou três prêmios nas categorias de atuação para Tony Shaloub, Alex Borstein e Luke Kirby.
Nas categorias de Filme para TV ou Série Limitada, a HBO foi o grande destaque com Chernobyl, que levou o prêmio principal, além das estatuetas de Melhor Direção e Melhor Roteiro.
